Munich, March 23, 2009

OpenVG is a standard for 2D vector grafics acceleration which is maintained by the Khronos group (http://www.khronos.org/openvg/). The standard has been adopted by, among others, ARM, HUONE, NVIDIA and Imagination Technologies. It is targeted for embedded devices and hardware implementations of openVG will free core CPUs from executing grafics code. This will not only accelerate 2D grafics output but also reduce power consumption.

MicroDoc has developed "JavaTM Bindings for OpenVG", a Java based 2D vector grafics API that makes use of the OpenVG API and unleashes the power of 2D vector grafics acceleration for Java programs running on embedded devices.

Technical details and a product annoucement will be released shortly.
