MicroDoc is a porting partner for IBMs embedded runtime technology and supplies WebSphere Everyplace Micro/Custom Environment and Lotus Expeditor for Devices for applications in many industries.
For a master project, winter semester 2008, MicroDoc supports the Department of Computer Sciences and Business Information Systems at University of Applied Sciences, Karlsruhe with IBM Embedded Runtimes. Mobile devices collect the runners' positions and other data, and send them to a server. The runners can then use as a web application to evaluate the data and create training plans. A special feature in development is a "Community Function" which allows multiple runners to communicate with each other, compare training plans, and locate and meet one another. In addition to a Server and Front-End Team, two Mobile Teams will build mobile clients based on the Java eRCP and other platforms.
